The Apple Product That Looks Better With Abuse: The iPhone Leather Case

Anyone that’s owned any leather products knows that they tend to look better with age and abuse. So, what better way to protect your shiny new iPhone than with a case that can get increasingly attractive the more it gets beaten up?

I’ve owned many cases for practically every generation iPhone and with each received more compliments on leather than with any modern looking plastic or rubber case. The natural oils in my hand that would otherwise create annoying fingerprints or blemishes on plastic, instead add rich color and distinctive character to the leather. As a result, a unique and adventurous style emerges from the case over time.

I just received the leather case I ordered for the latest iPhone and was shocked to be reminded of how the case looks when fresh out of the box. The brown looks very muted at first as you can see below. However, it doesn’t take long for everyday use (and a few scuffs) to add deeper color and personality to the case.

Before and After – As you can see, the contrast between new and used over time is remarkable. (iPhone XS Max Saddle Brown Leather on left, and iPhone X Saddle Brown Leather with age, wear and tear on the right).

Additionally, I have found the leather cases made by Apple to be among the more durable and rugged of their class. And, because they are clearly being made with the same design sense as the iPhone itself, Apple’s cases have the most complimentary shape and feel.

I’ve dropped my iPhone while in many 3rd party cases resulting in dents, scuffs and cracked screens. Apple cases handle abuse very well. There is just enough of a lip on the screen edge to help prevent cracked screens, corners are covered generously to limit cosmetic damage, and abuse overall just ends up making the case look better over time.

Helpy Features:

+ Provides Solid Protection from Drops and Cosmetic Damage
+ Can Look Increasingly Better Over Time from Wear and Tear
+ Comes in an Assortment of Colors

Drawbacks:

– On the Pricey Side

In classic Apple fashion, attention to detail and beauty can be found even in the areas you won’t see on the outside. The felt on the inside helps to prevent scuffs and scratches.

While a bit pricey, the iPhone Leather Case is a great product in its own right. It protects like a champ and takes a beating with style making it an ideal choice for the accident prone or those seeking to add rugged character to their technology.

The iPhone XS Max Leather Case is $49 and available in assorted colors. Visit Apple.com for details.
