Find Your Wallet, Keys and More in Seconds: TrackR

Nowadays, virtually all our devices have some form of geolocation service built in. Thanks to GPS, when you lose something or even someone, they don’t remain lost for very long. However, there are still some things such as my Wallet and Keys that stay lost when I misplace them.

TrackR is a tiny coin-sized Bluetooth device that uses your smartphone’s GPS to convert your losable items into findable objects that can even “call out” to you before you leave them behind. Continue reading

Does Less Than My iPhone And That’s Good: The Apple Watch

The long awaited Apple Watch.

While many continue to wait… as a “Late Comer” to the realm of Smart Watches, Apple’s introduction remains mired in the fog of supply shortages, brand bashing, criticism and praise. One fact however is undeniably clear – the launch of the Apple Watch has been an undisputed success. More units sold in the first weekend than other Smart Watches sold the entire year before the Apple Watch’s arrival – with the majority of its buyers having never even held one in their hands. I was among these that placed the order in the first minute(s) of availability hoping to receive on launch day Apple’s first entry in the wearable market.

Well I’ve been wearing my Watch for almost a month now and people continue to ask me if it lives up to all the hype. While I admit it may not (yet) be a must-have device for most, many like me may quickly appreciate its style, usefulness, and clear potential to do more.

Stay Cool On Outdoor Adventures: The Handy Cooler

Before you know it, summer will be upon us. If you live in places like California, it sometimes feels like summer never really left. Hot and arid climates make air conditioning a welcome comfort. However, staying indoors isn’t always fun. So, companies have made devices that help you stay cool on the go.

When searching for gadgets to keep me and my kids cool outdoors, I found mostly battery powered fans combined with spray bottles. These work by misting yourself with water and using the fan to evaporatively cool you.

Although this solution can work well, the spraying can also effectively get my camera and other gadgets wet in the process which is no bueno. Continue reading

Don’t Underestimate The Power Of A Little Illumination: The Photon Micro-Light II

Flashlights are underrated.

If your thoughts are, “No they’re not – I just don’t need one…” then please read on.

Nobody needs anything until they finally do.

Although you may have a fancy Smartphone with a bright screen or an App that turns it’s LED flash into what could be used as a flashlight, consider this: What if you lose that phone… In the dark?
